Kinos Safaris requires rental customers to use marked official snowmobile trails. These routes form a connected winter network around Levi and the surrounding area. Trail signs and maps help riders remain on the permitted network, but winter conditions can affect access and riding times. A route that looks simple on a map may take longer when visibility, snow or trail conditions change.
Do not use an old map or a general landscape feature as permission to ride. Frozen lakes, forest roads and open areas are not automatically available to rental customers. If a section is not part of the marked official trail network, leave it out of your plan unless Kinos Safaris has confirmed otherwise.
Every driver must show a valid driving licence before receiving a rental snowmobile. Kinos Safaris also applies zero tolerance for alcohol. Plan your riding day so that every driver remains completely sober and able to concentrate throughout the route.
How do you plan a self-drive snowmobile route?
You can purchase a snowmobile map from our Safari House for €10 or use the Levi snowmobile trail map on Infogis on your phone. Review the network before leaving and choose a route that fits your booked time. The available rental periods are 09:00–13:00, 13:00–17:00 and 09:00–17:00.
The published rental allowance is 200 kilometres per day, with additional kilometres charged at €1 per kilometre. This should not be treated as a suggested daily target. Your route should reflect your experience, the conditions and the time needed for breaks and refuelling. Fuel is not included in the rental price, and a refuelling point is available at the Safari House.

Should you rent independently or join a guided safari?
An independent rental suits riders who are comfortable following a map, monitoring time and making their own route decisions. We provide the machine, one equipment set and driving instructions, but there is no guide travelling with you. You are responsible for staying on marked trails and adapting your plan when conditions change.
A guided safari is often a more relaxed choice for first-time riders. The guide leads the group, chooses the route and sets the pace.
